Free Watermark for Photographers, Just Something That Worked for Me

I recently wanted to create a new watermark for my online galleries, mainly to help protect my images from being screenshotted or used without permission. Like many of you, I use Pixieset to deliver galleries to clients for my mini sessions, especially for Christmas minis and adding a watermark seemed like a simple but effective step toward keeping my work safe.

After making the watermark, I shared it in a Facebook group for photographers, mostly just to see what people thought. I honestly wasn’t expecting the response, but I had loads of people messaging me asking if they could buy it.

Rather than sell it, I’ve decided to share it here for free. It’s just a small way to give back to the photography community that’s helped me so much over the years.

A PNG file with a transparent background
It is landscape but will work for all images as it doesn’t need to cover the entire image to be affective
I personally use it with Pixieset, and it's really simple, just upload the file to your account and apply it to your galleries in one click

⚠️ A Note on AI & Watermarks

Let’s be real no watermark is 100% foolproof, especially with how fast AI is advancing. That said, I’ve tested this one on a few of the popular AI removal tools, and so far, I haven’t seen one that can take it off cleanly.

Of course, that could change, but I’m hopeful that as awareness grows, AI tools will become better at recognising and respecting copyright protection like watermarks.
