Breastfeeding Portraits Photographer Barnoldswick, Lancashire
Breastfeeding has got to be one of the most magical times between a mother and child. The bond of pure love whilst you are providing your precious one with all the nutrients he needs to grow big and strong.
Such a precious time should be honoured, captured and frozen in images you can look back on when they are all grown up and no longer dependant on you to provide for them as they were when they were small.

When I first looked around my new studio and saw this big window with loads of natural light flooding in, I instantly had this image in my mind of a mum, in a white flowing gown, feeding her child.
Natural, magical, stunning images, just mum and baby.

So when my lovely friend and fellow photographer Sehar said she would bring her son Isaiah over for a session I was over the moon to say the least (and if I am completely honest, I was also a little nervous! In case the images didn't turn out how I had them in my mind)
Sehar was very nervous too, she is quite self conscious and doesn't like her photos being taken. She was also a little apprehensive as she didn't know how revealing the images would be.
When she arrived we had a hot chocolate and I told her my ideas, and showed her the gown I was hoping she would be happy to wear. We talked about her worries, and I took them all on board. Once she had gotten herself into the gown I gave her and Isaiah a moment to sit down and get comfortable, this was no problem for Isaiah as he was so ready for some of mummys milk!

I was so happy that I achieved the images I had been dreaming of, but the most important thing was if I had manage to create some that Sehar would love too! I took a few more natural ones and then asked her to get changed.

We then looked through some of the images on the back of my camera and she loved them all! :) In fact we both had a little bit of an emotional moment!
I asked Sehar how she felt before and after her session and here is what she told me...
"I hate having my photo taken and really don't like 'posing' for the camera. I really liked how I didn't have to pose and I was just having a normal conversation with you. I was still a little nervous after as I didn't know how the photos would look but after you showed me some on the camera I was much happier! I'm so glad I did it and I've got the photos to look at in a few years Xx"

Thank you once again Sehar and Isaiah for sharing your special moments with me and letting me capture them for you.
